The BIO
Founder: Mel
"Verses n Vices was born from my need for self-expression and a desire to share passion through fashion. The name reflects some of my favorite things in life, and the brand itself is more than just clothing—it’s a voice, a feeling, and a statement. Hip hop has been a huge influence on me; some of my earliest childhood memories carry a hip hop soundtrack. I started writing rhymes at nine years old and quickly learned that creativity is a way of life. As a child, I was inspired by the legendary Shirt Kings. My friends and I would study their designs, sketch our own versions, and dream about the day we could afford their pieces. When I finally did, I felt like royalty—seen and heard without having to say a word. That experience shaped my belief that style is freedom, and when you look good, you feel good.
With Verses n Vices, I want people from all backgrounds to experience that same freedom. Every piece is designed to make you feel that what you’re wearing is a reflection of who you are—so when you step out into the world, people hear you without a word being spoken. My biggest challenge has been learning to follow through, especially through the rough patches in my journey, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and the growth I’ve experienced. One of my proudest moments so far has been watching my vision come to life through the progress of my website.
Verses n Vices is for everyone—every form of expression, every walk of life. The brand symbolizes the voice of freedom, where passion, style, and individuality collide. My goal is to make Verses n Vices a future staple in the world of fashion, a place where people can unapologetically be themselves and look good doing it. With exclusive collections and exciting surprises on the horizon, this is just the beginning."
